Thyroid Exam

Examination of the thyroid is done to look at the size of the thyroid as well as for nodules. Blood test determines whether the thyroid gland is working properly.

An underactive thyroid gland can cause symptoms such as weight gain, tiredness, dry skin, constipation, a feeling of being too cold or frequent menstrual periods.

An overactive thyroid can cause symptoms such as weight loss, rapid heart rate, nervousness, diarrhea, a feeling of being too hot, or irregular menstrual periods. Treatments for these conditions can be given at any of our facilities.
